Glaze Finishes

Glaze finishes can provide a unique, elegant look on your walls, cabinets or furniture. Glazes add a translucent color — or colors — over a painted base color or colors and can achieve a variety of looks depending on the techniques and tools used to apply the glaze. Glaze finishes are used for leather, parchment, and “tea-stained” looks, striae (combed) and woven- fabric looks. Glazes are also used for an antiqued look on a painted wood trim and for finishes replicating wood. Glaze painting can add a luxurious, dimensional look as well as an endless array of patterns and effects.
